God’s Story

Now it is time to tell God’s Story, also known as the Gospel.  We use a tool called the Three Circles so that we can easily visualize what God has done for us through Jesus, but also what we must do to return to him.  We have adapted this to create a version that uses language that Muslims may be able to understand more easily.  You only need to learn the one version, but we also include a link to a non-Muslim version below.

For an alternative, non-Muslim version of the Three Circles, you can go to this video:  https://vimeo.com/255046057

Discussion questions for your team meeting

  • What are you thankful for since the last lesson?  What has been difficult or frustrating?  Were you able to finish your assignments from the last lesson?
  • What are some reasons that you think it is important to share a clear Gospel presentation with your new friend?
  • If you don’t do it now, what might happen later in your relationship?
  • How can you move from telling your story to telling God’s story?
  • What resources will you need to have with you to be able to share the Three Circles?

Group Practice

  • Watch the video below to learn how to share God’s story using the Three Circles.
  • Write down and practice sharing Three Circles for yourself 1-2 times.  You may feel a little silly, but to be certain you understand it, make sure you say the story out loud in addition to drawing the diagram.
  • Show the Three Circles to someone else on your team at least three times.
  • Practice putting it all together!  Try starting from the beginning to learn someone else’s story, share your story, and then share God’s story.

Lesson Homework

Meet with your new Muslim friend and share God’s Story with them using the Three Circles.  Gauge their reaction to see if you believe that they are a Red Light, a Yellow Light, or a Green Light.
